Texas teen Karmelo Anthony appeared “distraught” in the moments after he allegedly fatally stabbed Austin Metcalf, another student testified Monday at his murder trial.A 17-year-old teammate of Anthony described the “chaos” that ensued at a track and field meet in Frisco on April 2, 2025 after Anthony and Metcalf got into a dispute over seating — allegedly resulting and Anthony stabbing Metcalf to death.The witness — whose name was ordered to be withheld because of his age — said he saw Anthony, a Frisco Centennial High School Student, under the team tent of rival school Frisco Memorial High School when “things started to change,” according to a report by local outlet NBC 5 DFW.The student — who was the first witness called by Anthony’s defense team — heard “louder voices than usual” and that he was about to go over and see if his classmate, Anthony, needed help when he “saw a push.”Then “it got super loud” and the moment descended into “chaos” with Metcalf pulling up his shirt and saying he got stabbed and Anthony breaking into a “light jog” away from the scene, the teen testified.Then a he saw a “distraught” and crying Anthony being comforted and held by a coach, the student recalled.Anthony told the coach, “I told him not to touch me,” the witness recounted to the jury.The student said he didn’t know if Metcalf was justified in shoving Anthony and also didn’t know if Anthony was justified in knifing Metcalf.Anthony’s lawyers have claimed Anthony stabbed Metcalf in self-defense and that Metcalf started the confrontation.Jurors have heard from witnesses that Metcalf asked Anthony to move out from under his team’s tent that was set up on the bleachers of the Kuykendall Stadium, but that Anthony refused to move despite numerous requests by Metcalf and other students.Anthony allegedly said “touch me and find out” as he had his hand inside his backpack on his lap, suggesting he might pull something out, o...
