Yankees Spencer Jones crushes 443-foot shot for his first MLB home run

CLEVELAND — The 33rd time was the charm.Top Yankees prospect Spencer Jones hit his first career home run Tuesday in the 33rd at-bat of his rookie season, breaking a scoreless tie in the second inning against the Guardians.Jones hit a 443-blast to the deepest part of Progressive Field, bouncing the ball off a wall and into the shrubbery behind the center field fence.After Jazz Chisholm Jr.drew a leadoff walk, Jones turned around an 87-mph cutter from starter Slade Cecconi.The homer continued a good streak for Jones since he was recalled from Triple-A to play right field while Aaron Judge and Jasson Dominguez are both on the injured list.

He had his first career three-hit game Friday and a ninth-inning single off the American League’s best reliever (Cade Smith) on Monday....
