Nearly two years after an illegal immigrant almost took her life, California seven-year-old Dalilah Coleman and her parents met with US Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) headquarters as they got an update on a push to pass a law named in her honor.Mullin spoke to her father, Marcus, about the significance of passing Dalilah’s Law, which would prohibit any state from granting a Commercial Driver’s License to an undocumented person.On June 20, 2024, Partap Singh — an undocumented man from India, who had been given a commercial driver’s license by the state despite his immigration status — was speeding through a construction zone and failed to stop his truck for traffic, leading to the horrifying crash, according to DHS.
