Missing Man Found Alive After Vanishing Before Bonnaroo Festival

Police officers who approached the man’s white Lexus reportedly described him as disoriented and unable to recount exactly what had transpired over the previous 48 hours.The unsettling episode began early Thursday morning at a rental property on Douglas Avenue, where Lines was scheduled to stay over the course of the nearby festival, which began later that day.

According to police, Lines’ friends said they had left the short-term rental around 5am to search for someone’s misplaced phone before returning after 6am, at which point the man and his white Lexus RX350 were gone.His phone, medication and clothing were left inside the residence.

The group filed a missing persons report later that Thursday morning and began calling area hospitals.Kyle Smith, the brother of Lines, told local news outlets that the disappearance of the car was the first clue that something was seriously wrong.

The sudden absence coupled with a known history of mental health struggles prompted an urgent search campaign across the region.The effort quickly expanded as family members canvassed the East Nashville neighborhood and the sprawling Bonnaroo festival grounds.

Investigators with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department eventually traced the vehicle using automated cameras located in neighboring municipalities, detecting the Lexus in Mt.Juliet on Friday morning and in Goodlettsville later that afternoon.
