Suspect busted in deadly Delaware hospital shooting is IDd

Police have identified the gunman busted for allegedly shooting two teenage coworkers — one fatally — at a Delaware hospital.John Wallace-Bey, 23, is facing a slew of charges, including first-degree murder, after allegedly gunning down a 19-year-old man and seriously wounding another co-worker, also a 19-year-old man, at Wilmington Hospital on Tuesday, WPVI reported.He was arrested across state lines in Pennsylvania after an hours-long manhunt.The wounded victim remains in critical but stable condition.The identity of the deceased victim will be released at a later date, the Wilmington Police Department said in an update Wednesday. Wallace-Bey, of New Castle, allegedly shot the pair inside of the hospital around 3:30 p.m., forcing the medical facility to go into lockdown for hours. Wallace-Bey managed to flee the hospital after the shooting and was eventually tracked across state lines to Philadelphia, where he was taken into custody in the city’s Olney neighborhood.The motive remains unclear, however police said the shooting appears to be a targeted and isolated incident.Wallace-Bey is charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, possession of a firearm while committing a felony and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.He remains locked up in Philadelphia awaiting extradition back to Delaware from Philadelphia.Wilmington Mayor John Carney thanked hospital staff who continued to care for patients following the mayhem.“Any violence or loss of life in our city is unacceptable,” Carney said at the press conference.“It’s particularly distressing when an incident like this occurs in a hospital whose fundamental purpose is to treat injuries and save lives.”...
