Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran have released an acoustic version of ‘Repeat It,’ a surprise companion to the long-awaited original track that finally released earlier this month after more than a decade in the works.Ad 0:00 Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 The acoustic version opens with a tender guitar riff.
While its predecessor moves with an upbeat, driving tempo, this wistful version deconstructs the beat and puts Sheeran’s silky voice front and center. The feeling that powered the original is still there, but it’s more intimate in the stripped-back framework.
The streaming release arrives alongside a performance video filmed on a rooftop in Santiago, Chile, where the two artists sat side by side and strummed acoustic guitars underneath the capital’s glimmering cityscape. The video was filmed to celebrate the birthday of Garrix, who is somehow still only 30.
