Boris Becker has $6,600 watch seized before public appearance as divorce fight takes ugly turn

Boris Becker had a roughly $6,600 watch seized by bailiffs on behalf of his ex-wife moments before a recent scheduled public appearance in Germany. The tennis legend was at an event Sunday in Bad Honnef when three police officers and a bailiff from Königswinter District Court entered the venue and found him shortly before he was due to be interviewed on stage by Sky Sports Germany presenter Riccardo Basile, the Daily Mail reported.Dr.Michael Scheele, a lawyer for Becker’s ex-wife Lilly Kerssenberg, said his team had obtained a court order to seize assets from the six-time Grand Slam champion.“He didn’t have any cash, so [the bailiff] seized the watch,” Scheele said. The seizure is tied to an ongoing dispute between Becker and Kerssenberg, who married in 2009 and separated nine years later.Scheele claimed Becker has failed to pay what he owes following their divorce, including child support for their 16-year-old son, Amadeus.A court spokesperson told German magazine Bunte that the seizure “went smoothly” and said Becker was polite and cooperative.“Since he wasn’t carrying any cash, only his wristwatch was confiscated,” the spokesperson said.
