With an hour’s notice and a bat of her eyelashes, Charli XCX ushered in her third single from Music, Fashion, Film: “Wink Wink.” The new song gets a music video directed by Aidan Zamiri, in which the pop star swears she’s “not a bad girl anymore” while eating strawberries in a field, washing window panes, sneaking onto a roof, and letting loose by herself.Check it out below.“Wink Wink” arrives after the headline-baiting single “Rock Music” and the more traditionally pop-indebted song “SS26.” (No, their accompanying “b-sides” aren’t part of the album’s tracklist.) Charli XCX previously denied that Music, Fashion, Film is a rock album, but it does seem like she got plenty of inspiration beyond the dance floor — or at least in terms of who she rang up to pose for its cover: John Cale, fashion designer Marc Jacobs, and director Martin Scorsese.Music, Fashion, Film is out July 24 via Atlantic.
