A newborn infant was found dead inside a portable restroom at the 2026 edition of the Electric Forest festival in Rothbury, Michigan, CBS News reports.Ad 0:00 Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 An employee of the restroom vending company made the discovery while conducting routine maintenance on the campgrounds of Double JJ Ranch, where the festival is held, according to Michigan State Police.
Authorities have not revealed the exact age of the newborn and it’s unclear whether the baby was born at the festival or abandoned on its grounds.Police said there is no known threat to the public, and the incident remains under an active investigation.
The organizers of Electric Forest responded to the discovery Sunday evening.“Forest Family, it causes us so much pain to have to share this difficult news with you,” organizers wrote in a statement posted to the festival’s Instagram.
