Mug shot revealed for brother of Calais Campbell after getting charged with mothers murder
Ciarre Campbell’s mug shot has been released after the 41-year-old brother of Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Calais Campbell was charged with murder in the death of their mother, Nateal Campbell, in Atlanta on Tuesday.Police found 71-year-old Nateal unresponsive inside her Buckhead townhome during a welfare check that was requested from a concerned family member, Lt.Christapher Butler told Channel 2 Action News.Arrest warrants accused Ciarre, a former football player at Colorado State, of cutting his mother’s neck.Ciarre faces charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm or knife during commission of a felony, according to jail records viewed by The Post.An official cause of death has not been released. It’s unclear whether Ciarre lived at the townhome.
Officers had previously been called to Nateal home for a possible mental health issue with Ciarre, according to Channel 2 Action News.“A brief look into the history does show some calls back in April dealing with this location a possible arson incident,” Lt.Butler told the outlet.
“There have been some indications of possibly some mental health issues with an individual.”The Campbell family issued a statement asking for privacy.“We are devastated to share that the Campbell Family has lost its matriarch, Mrs.Nateal Campbell,” the family statement said, per ESPN.
