Rangers trading Will Borgen to Bruins as blue line overhaul continues

The Rangers continue to redesign their defense corps. Will Borgen, 29, was traded to the Bruins on Wednesday as part of president and general manager Chris Drury’s makeover of the blue line.The Rangers acquired a 2027 second-round pick and a conditional third-rounder in 2028 in exchange for Borgen, whose departure removes a chunk of money from the club’s books.As per the condition, the Blueshirts will receive Boston’s second-round pick in 2028 if the Bruins make the conference final in either of the next two seasons and Borgen plays in 50 percent of the team’s playoff games.  Sign up for Inside the Rangers, a weekly Sports+ exclusive.Please provide a valid email.
