A man’s rotting corpse was discovered wedged inside a couch by a cleaning crew at a Brooklyn home for the mentally ill, according to authorities and sources.The cleaning service arrived at the building on Union Street and Utica Avenue in Crown Heights around 8:50 a.m.Thursday — only for a resident to call the cops on them after mistaking them for burglars, according to the NYPD and sources.Police left after realizing the mistake, but returned to the building 30 minutes later after the cleaners made a grim discovery, sources said.The crew shockingly stumbled upon the skeletal remains of a heavily decomposed man’s body wedged in a sofa, sources added.The building houses mentally ill and disabled residents, according to sources.It’s not yet known if the man was a victim of a crime, as the Medical Examiner’s office is working to determine his cause of death.An investigation into the finding remains ongoing....
