Egypts World Cup staffers clash with Dallas police in wild scene

At least two Dallas police officers and members of the Egypt national soccer team’s staff were involved in a physical altercation and shouting match, according to videos.While one player was posing for a photo with a young fan Thursday in a hotel lobby, an officer approached a staffer and touched him on the arm to get his attention.The two exchanged some words and then the officer started shouting, “Back off! Back off! Back off!” It’s unclear what the staffer was replying.That’s when the pushing and shoving started behind an area roped-off to the public, and the officer pointed his finger into the staffer’s chest as they were just inches apart.Another member of the Egyptian delegation stepped in to separate the two heated men.The officer reached behind his back to remove something from his belt that was positioned next to his firearm. Yahoo identified the confrontational staffer as team director Ibrahim Hassan, who is the brother of head coach Hossam Hassan.The Egyptian Independent reported, per a source, that “an altercation occurred between Ibrahim Hassan and a hotel security guard due to the organizers’ poor handling of the Egyptian fans.“The fans were eager to take commemorative photos with the players, but security intervened aggressively.This angered Hassan, who stepped in to object to their harsh demeanor.”Tensions were de-escalated within a minute and members of the Egyptian team left the lobby.Egypt is favored over Australia at 2 p.m.
