Over 1.7 million grill brushes recalled ahead of Fourth of July weekend after reports of swallowing metal

More than one million grill brushes have been recalled after frightening reports emerged of people accidentally swallowing the tool’s loose metal bristles.The US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the massive recall – which impacts nearly 1.75 million Cuisinart metal wire-bristle grill brushes sold since 2009 – after Conair received at least 54 reports of the bristles falling off.In three terrifying cases, people swallowed the metal pieces – and the patients needed medical attention to remove them.The impacted models – all of which are baton-shaped with black plastic, stainless steel or wooden handles – pose an ingestion hazard and “risk of serious injuries that could require surgery,” the CPSC wrote in its recall notice....
