Justin Baldoni broke his silence about the “It Ends With Us” dispute Wednesday, sharing a short video alongside his wife, Emily, on Instagram in which they said “gratitude” is what kept them going throughout the legal saga.Subscribe to read this story ad-freeGet unlimited access to ad-free articles and exclusive content.“Gratitude has saved us,” Justin Baldoni said in the video, which comes a year and a half after Blake Lively accused him of sexual harassment during the production of their film “It Ends With Us,” which Baldoni directed and co-starred in.
Lively also alleged that Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, retaliated against her after she complained about allegations of misconduct on the set of the film.Baldoni vehemently denied Lively’s claims.U.S.
District Judge Lewis J.Liman tossed out most of Lively’s claims against Baldoni earlier this year, including of harassment, defamation and conspiracy.
Liman ruled that Lively could not pursue those claims under federal civil rights law in part because she was an independent contractor, not an employee.The judge let three other claims stand: breach of contract, retaliation and aiding and abetting in retaliation.But the two parties reached a settlement in May before their expected trial date was set to begin.Lively’s team did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding Wednesday’s video.Neither Baldoni mentioned Lively, the film or the legal battle in the video, which is almost five minutes long.
