“At mau5trap, music is taste, instinct, timing, culture and soul,” mau5trap A&R Jimi Frew told us prior to the demo submission initiative.“WAF has always been about that kind of listening.
We ask, ‘Does this track something unique, and does it belong in the mau5trap catalog?'” The label’s approach to submissions has stayed notably hands-on.According to the mau5trap team, they are listening to every single track sent through the demo submission portal, provided they represent the producer’s best finished work.
