NGHTMRE and Cyclops Turn Viral Meme Into Dubstep Mayhem on New Single, 'Computah'

NGHTMRE and Cyclops have joined forces on ‘Computah,’ a new single out today via the former’s Gud Vibrations label.Ad 0:00 Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 Built around an original vocal from Julius Mondragon, the track pulls from the viral TikTok creator’s ‘Computah’ persona, a bit in which he jokingly “programs” strangers and situations through computer-like voice commands.
NGHTMRE and Cyclops translate that internet absurdity into a full-force festival weapon, using it as both a punchline and a functional crowd-control mechanism.‘Computah’ opens with a bright, 8-bit-coded jingle that feels like a corrupted arcade machine booting up backstage at a dubstep festival.
From there, the wobbly track builds around vocals instructing the titular machine to prepare the crowd for impact through “PLUR Protocol.” It is ridiculous in its concept, but sharp in its execution. The track, which NGHTMRE debuted live during his Fourth of July set at Pacha New York, arrives during active chapters for both artists.
NGHTMRE is coming off the deluxe edition of his sophomore album, MINDFULL, which included collaborations with A$AP Ferg, Flowdan, Crankdat, Blanke, Kompany and others. He’s now primed for DJ sets at Excision’s beloved festivals, Bass Canyon and Lost Lands, among other high-profile performances.
Cyclops, meanwhile, continues to build momentum as a rising star in the dubstep scene. After releasing music with Flux Pavilion, Wooli, Boogie T and more, he recently hosted his sold-out ‘Gods & Monsters’ show at The Midway and is moving through a North American tour with stops in Boston, Chicago, Denver and more.
He’s also set to perform at Lost Lands in September. You can find ‘Computah’ on streaming platforms here.
