Popular fast food chain to open 60 new restaurants, with focus on California

Are you ready for Freddy?California burger lovers are getting a taste of the Midwest, with Wichita staple Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers announcing its expansion on the West Coast as dozens of new locations are set to pop up across the Golden State. The popular fast-casual chain, known for its fresh never-frozen beef, small-batch frozen custard and classic American comfort food, is making a significant push into California. The increase in storefronts is part of the company’s multiyear development strategy that’s set to see the chain extending its reach into multiple US regions to the tune of 60 new locations. This extension west will focus heavily on Northern California while continuing to build on its existing presence in in the state.
Freddy’s currently operates several locations in Southern California — Bakersfield, Barstow, Fontana, Glendora, Norco, San Marcos and Victorville — and sees strong potential in the Golden State’s market. As part of this expansion, Freddy’s is offering potential business owners the opportunity to become a franchisee in the chain restaurant.“A strong franchise system is built on operators who see long-term opportunity within the brand,” said Freddy’s chief development officer Andrew Thengvall.“As Freddy’s continues to grow, we remain focused on supporting our franchisees, through new restaurant prototypes, greater real estate flexibility, and development strategies that help position the brand for sustainable growth,” he added. The expansion comes as several national chains, like Raising Cane’s and California favorite In-N-Out Burger, continue to invest in the state despite economic challenges, betting on the Golden State’s large population and appetite for familiar, quick-service options.
