Witnesses wallop Utah mall stabbing suspect, hold him until police arrive, wild video shows

A knife-wielding maniac stabbed an employee at a Utah mall and was then pummeled by angry bystanders who subdued him until cops could arrive, according to police and wild video. The attack happened on Monday inside the Valley Fair Mall around 3 p.m., when the unhinged perp repeatedly stabbed a kiosk employee, the West Valley City Police Department said. But before he could continue his stabbing spree, a group of courageous bystanders jumped into the fray, holding him down until authorities arrived. Viral video shows a brave bystander and the victim struggling with the alleged perp – seen with gray hair, sporting a blue shirt and green shorts – attempting to wrestle a knife out of his hands. Another man is seen tossing objects at the mad stabber in an attempt to get him to loosen his grip on the knife. Two strongmen are then seen holding the perp down – presumably with the knife in his hand – while a man in a white T-shirt pummels him. “Drop the f–king knife! Drop it! Drop it! ” the man in the white T-shirt screams at the attacker as he beats him until he finally falls limp on the floor, the footage shows.Cops arrived on scene after the bloody assault and took the suspect into custody, according to News 4 Utah.    The man who was stabbed was rushed to the hospital to undergo emergency surgery, according to authorities. Police are still investigating what the motive for the attack was and if the two men had a prior relationship. ...
