Distraught mom of HS swimmer who drowned claims cops hung up on her, rips wolves in sheeps clothing friends

The grieving mom of an 18-year-old honor roll student who drowned in a Texas lake claimed Tuesday that cops hung up on her as she pleaded for help — as she branded two teens with her son at the time “Wolves in sheep’s clothing.”Tameca Erving, mother of Daniel Erving, gave an emotional address as her family announced that they have recruited famed civil rights attorney Ben Crump to lead their campaign in seeking justice for the teen.“As a mother, I knew something was wrong from day one,” Tameca Erving said as she recounted the day her son went missing on April 13, who she says left behind his ID, social security card, and money. She described how she “pleaded with” the police to try to get them to investigate her son’s disappearance.“When I called the police, I annoyed them and they hung up the telephone on my face,” Tameca Erving said, to sounds of disapproval from the throng who had gathered behind her at a Dallas church for Tuesday’s press conference.Rowlett Police Department did not respond immediately to requests for comment.Lucas Roper, 19, and a 17-year-old juvenile have both been charged with tampering with physical evidence after allegedly tossing his belongings and deleting evidence from his cellphone.“I’ve never met the two boys before,” Tameca Erving said.“They were wolves in sheep’s clothing.”This is a developing story.
