Caitlin Clark still on minutes restriction to start back-to-back before Liberty clash

INDIANAPOLIS — Fever star Caitlin Clark remained on a minutes restriction for the first night of a back-to-back, Indiana coach Stephanie White said before Friday’s game against Seattle.Join Post Sports+ for exciting subscriber-only features, including real-time texting with Madeline Kenney about all things Liberty and WNBA.
Clark’s workload has been limited and carefully monitored because of a nagging back issue that flared up at the beginning of the season. In 20 games, she’s averaging 19.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 7.7 assists. The Fever also downgraded center Aliyah Boston to “out” with a lower right leg issue.“I don’t think it was anything from specifically the last game,” White said of Boston.“I think it’s just the compilation of games, so to speak, and an inflammation.

“Here’s our four or five days with unexpected flight issues, it’s a little bit different but having the time together as a team for the film, for the practice, the camaraderie is really good.”Saturday’s meeting between New York and Indiana isn’t just another regular-season game.It matters.Because both teams have a lot to prove. The Fever haven’t been so hot as of late.
