Exclusive | Uber driver struck by unhinged wigmaker in deadly NYC crash sues

The Uber driver whose car was struck by reckless wigmaker Miriam Yarimi moments before she plowed into a Brooklyn family — killing a mother and two of her young daughters – is suing the her for crashing into him.Rustam Uzakov, 64, was driving four passengers in his silver 2023 Toyota Camry along Ocean Parkway near Quentin Road on March 29, 2025, when prosecutors say Yarimi, speeding in her blue 2023 Audi A3, slammed into his vehicle.The impact sent Yarimi’s car careening into the crosswalk, where it struck Natasha Saada, 35, and her three young children as they walked with the light.Police said Yarimi, whose Audi bore the vanity license plate “WIGM8KER,” was traveling 68 mph in a 25 mph zone when the crash occurred.
Natasha and her daughters, Diana, 8, and Deborah, 5, were killed, while her son Philip, then 4, was critically injured.The car then flipped and landed about 130 feet away.
The mother and three children riding in Uzakov’s vehicle fortunately survived their accident, but he claimed in the filing that he sustained severe injuries and was left in emotional distress from the harrowing incident. His exact injuries are not made clear in the lawsuit in the filed in Brooklyn Supreme court on Monday. Uzakov is demanding unspecified damages for past and future medical expenses. Yarimi, 33, entered a cushy plea deal and is currently serving a three to nine year sentence at Taconic Correctional Facility in Westchester for three counts of second-degree manslaughter. A Brooklyn judge shot down her bid to skirt responsibility in April, after she filed a handwritten note claiming she was suffering from a “medical emergency” during the crash as part of the ongoing civil case brought against her by the Saada family. “Therefore, I am not liable for this accident,” Yarimi — who infamously claimed the “devil” was in her eyes in the hospital after the crash, according to cops — wrote in her filing.Attorneys for Yarimi and Uzakov did not retur...
