Tom Brady surprisingly reveals first autographed football card is of Raiders player

Tom Brady has added another piece to his football collection.At Fanatics Fest in New York, Brady revealed his first autographed card, showing a 1/1 Fernando Mendoza rookie card.Brady said that since he first saw the card, he told Fanatics and Topps that he needed it.“I found it, and I got it,” Brady said during the event.“My first NFL auto, one of one,” Brady said.

“I know how hard he works, he’s got a great family, and he’s coming to a great environment [with the Raiders] for success.So I figured I got to invest in it.”Before he retired from the NFL in 2022, Brady founded CardVault in 2020, a card collection company that buys, sells, trades and grades cards.The company has more than 16 U.S.

locations, including San Francisco and Sacramento.While Brady has been passionate about sports cards, he revealed that he’s been searching for the 1/1 Mendoza card for a long time, and it wasn’t an easy card to track down.He admitted that he paid a “hefty price” to get it.“It’s a true win-win.

So I get the card that I want,” Brady said.“It’s going to bring our team a lot of luck, and it’s going to hopefully launch Fernando into a great young career.”Since Mendoza was taken first overall by the Raiders during the 2026 NFL Draft in April, Brady has been vocal about his admiration for his young quarterback.

The seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback has been heavily involved in restoring a winning culture to the Raiders’ organization as a minority owner.The story has yet to be written on whether Mendoza will save the Raiders, but his resume speaks for itself after Mendoza had a memorable season at Indiana last year, winning the Heisman Trophy and leading the Hoosiers to their first college football national championship....
