Chris Russo goes off on Giants Cam Skattebo over beyond stupid backflip

Chris Russo was dumbfounded on “First Take” by Cam Skattebo’s failed backflip attempt at Fanatics Fest.The Giants running back, still recovering from a brutal ankle injury, attempted a backflip while on stage.He over-rotated and fell backwards after an awkward landing.“He had a terrible ankle injury last year and he’s doing back flips at Fanatics fair?” Russo said Monday.“I mean what are you doing?”Russo, also known as Mad Dog, continued saying that he loved Skattebo out of Arizona State but the incident was “beyond stupid.”“You got training camp coming up, don’t do anything dumb like that,” Russo said.

“Take it easy in front of the plans on a platform.”“Oh my god did that drive me crazy.”Also on “First Take,” Jason McCourty defended the Giant, saying trying to get Skattebo to stop doing flips is like trying to get Russo to stop yelling on TV.He said as long as he shows up to training camp and is ready to run through walls on Sunday, he can do whatever he wants.Skattebo promised after the flip that he is fine and that he won’t hurt himself before the season, blaming the “bouncy” floors for the mishap.“I’m just going to keep being me, and if they want to say I’m brain-dead, and I don’t have no brain, then who cares, f— it,” he said on a panel at Fanatics Fest.Skattebo’s injury dates back to Week 8 of the 2025 season when he suffered a severe right ankle dislocation and an open tibia fracture when he was brought to the ground awkwardly by Eagles linebacker Zack Baun.The former Arizona State man missed the rest of the season after getting surgery to repair his ankle in October.Prior to the injury, Skattebo had 410 yards and five touchdowns on 101 carries.He also had 24 receptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns....
