Dodgers acquire Seth Halvorsen from Rockies for two former early draft picks

PHILADELPHIA –– The Dodgers made their first trade of deadline season on Monday.Just don’t expect it to make much of a ripple. In the kind of lower-profile, depth-building deal the team has executed repeatedly in recent years, the Dodgers acquired right-handed reliever Seth Halvorsen from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for two minor-leaguers, according to The Post’s Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman. The Dodgers are sending back in the deal Nick Frasso, a former top-ranked pitching prospect who struggled with injuries over his career, and Landyn Vidourek, the organization’s 2025 third-round pick who has slumped in his first full season with single-A Ontario this year.Halvorsen, 26, will report to triple-A, and had been on a rehab assignment recovering from shoulder inflammation.A third-year big-leaguer with a 99 mph fastball, Halvorsen has 13 career saves with a 4.31 ERA in 75 MLB appearances. While those aren’t bad marks for a pitcher who calls Coors Field home (his career ERA+ is 114, or 14 percentage above league-average production when accounting for ballpark factors), command problems have become pronounced over the last couple seasons.
