NFL Networks Tom Pelissero among growing list of talent in ESPN layoffs

NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, who was expected to come over after the network was bought by ESPN, is expected to be among those being laid off by ESPN, according to multiple reports.Pelissero, who is best known for breaking news on X and on television with Ian Rapoport on their “The Insiders” show, was thought to be staying at ESPN when the Worldwide Leader purchased NFL Network in exchange for a 10 percent equity stake in the company.ESPN spent the last six months sorting out who would be staying and whether others would be sent packing.Mike Garafolo, who was also a co-host of “The Insiders,” was retained by ESPN and given a contract extension, the company previously announced.The same cannot be said for NFL Network analyst Charles Davis, who is also expected to be laid by ESPN on Tuesday.ESPN is also expected to let go of injury expert Stephania Bell and longtime “SportsCenter” anchor David Lloyd, according to multiple reports.It’s a bloodbath for ESPN’s employees, with ESPN President Jimmy Pitaro sending a memo to the company about why this is all happening.Disney, ESPN’s parent company, is expected to conduct a round of layoffs as well.Pelissero joins a host of bigtime names that are being let go by ESPN, as the company has already told Ryan Clark on Monday that he was being laid off in an awkward moment that apparently happened while he was on television for his “NFL Live” spot.ESPN is also expected to let go of its longtime voice of baseball, Karl Ravech, who has been with the company for 33 years....
