3M Open predictions: PGA Tour picks, odds, best bets for TPC Twin Cities
The 3M Open is the calm after the storm.With all four majors now in the books, the PGA Tour calendar hits a bit of a lull before the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin on Aug.
13 with the St.Jude Championship at TPC Southwind.It’s an unenviable spot in the rotation for a tournament, as most of the game’s biggest names opt to skip the long trip from the United Kingdom to Minnesota for the 3M.One player who is making the sojourn to the Twin Cities is Scottie Scheffler.Still “stuck” on just one win in 2026, Scheffler is a ridiculous +240 favorite to lift the trophy at TPC Twin Cities.
Interestingly, this is the first time that the World No.1 has ever played in this event.Last year’s winner, Kurt Kitayama, and Maverick McNealy are joint second-favorites all the way down at 25/1.
Hideki Matsuyama, who was in the triple-digits at the Open Championship last week, is next up at 30/1 along with Tom Kim.Highly-touted prospect Jackson Koivun is all the way down at 33/1, and will be a trendy pick after finishing T10 at the ISCO Championship two weeks ago.This is the Auburn product’s second tournament since turning pro at the John Deere Classic, where he missed the cut.Even with Scheffler in the mix, this is one of the weakest fields we’ll see all year, so it’s no wonder that the 20-time PGA Tour winner is sitting at such a short number.
He could win this tournament with his B-game, but some factors are going against him.He will have just traveled about 4,000 miles after Sunday’s final round at Royal Birkdale, and he’s making his tournament debut.That may sound nitpicky, especially since TPC Twin Cities is a pretty soft course (six players finished at 20-under or better in 2025), but it’s enough to keep me off Scheffler at this ridiculous price.Perhaps the best way to play Scheffler is to be patient, see if he falls behind the pack a bit in Round 1, and then try to grab him at a discounted price.For now, we’ll swerve Scheffler and try to find some value on a t...
