The Issue: Admitting he can’t arrest Benjamin Netanyahu, Mayor Mamdani calls him a “war criminal.”Hold the front page; the mayor discovered that he can’t arrest Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu (“Zoh is all bark, no cuffs for Bibi,” July 22).He knew full well that he could not arrest Netanyahu, but wouldn’t drop the talk until he got boxed in by critics.Nothing has been gained from this except fanning the flames of Jew- and Israeli-hate, and spreading the false claim of genocide.Mark SeitelmanManhattanMamdani’s silence with regard to Russia, Iran and other violent countries, as compared to Israel, reflects his selective politics.
He should stick to governing New York City, and keep his disturbing views to himself.Roger AdlerManhattanMamdani, who brands Netanyahu as a “war criminal,” doesn’t recognize the historical irony of such a slur.Netanyahu’s older brother was the only Israeli commando killed during the daring 1976 Entebbe raid, which rescued 102 hostages and 12 crew members taken hostage by Palestinian and German terrorists.Mamdani no doubt has more respect for Uganda’s brutal former dictator Idi Amin, who tried but failed to protect the anti-Israel hijackers, as compared to Bibi’s sibling, who sacrificed his life.
