Iconic Disneyland character Tinker Bell quietly evicted from Fantasyland

“Faith, trust and a little bit of pixie dust” weren’t enough to save this beloved Disney character from eviction.Disneyland has announced that Tinker Bell, the loyal sidekick of Peter Pan who inspired a later Pixie Hollow-based franchise, will be booted out of the Fantasyland section of Disneyland Park starting on August 4, as its Pixie Hollow meet-and-greet space temporarily closes for refurbishment.The fairytale space, which guests can find in Fantasyland between the Matterhorn Bobsleds and Astro Orbiter next to the Sleeping Beauty Castle, will be open to host Tink’s regular hours up through August 3 — from 8:15 a.m.to 10:20 a.m., and 11:15 a.m.
to 2:30 p.m.While Disneyland has not cited a reason for the Pixie Hollow closure (which used to additionally host Tink’s friends from her franchise but has not done so for some time), and has not yet provided further details as to whether Tinker Bell will flutter away to some other meet-and-greet locale for photos and autographs in the meantime, this is not the first time the fairy has had to find a new place to fly.According to Inside the Magic, Pixie Hollow was shuttered for nine months between late 2024 and 2025 for prior refurbishment before the character was permitted to spread her wings there again.These updates included an extended meet-and-greet line, where Tink’s friends (like Vidia, known in the franchise as the fastest flying fairy) once also interacted with park guests.Additionally, Disney is in the process of creating a live-action drama series for Disney+ titled “Tink,” which currently has no announced release date and has been speculated to be a possible reason for the closure, should updates be required for the attraction.
