Kingsley Enagbare sees phenomenal future for Jets rookie David Bailey: Skys the limit

There was a positive air around the Jets facility Wednesday for Day 1 of practice.The team’s desire to begin writing a new, more successful chapter was evident. One area of newness for Gang Green is on the defensive line.

The team brought in veterans Joseph Ossai and Kingsley Enagbare in free agency and drafted David Bailey with the No.2 pick in April’s draft. Enagbare spent his first four pro seasons with Green Bay, a perennial playoff team in recent years.

The Packers’ record over Enagbare’s tenure was 37-30-1. The Jets’ record over that period? 22-46. “I know my room, we got a few younger guys, so trying to give the boys the insight that I got over the last four years.I pretty much made the playoffs throughout my four years, so I have a decent amount of playoff experience,” Enagbare said Wednesday.

“I know what it takes from Week 1 to Week 17 … how the playoff intensity changes and how to maintain your body, take care of your body, stuff like that.“It’s a long season, and it pretty much starts now.It starts in OTAs, honestly.”Bailey’s potential impact is one of the most intriguing elements of this Jets team.

Enagbare already has been amazed by what he’s seen from the rookie. “He’s going to be phenomenal.He’s going to have a long, long career,” Enagbare said.

“The sky’s the limit for that dude.He can literally do it all.

He can stop the run.He can rush the passer.

Sky’s the limit for him.”Overall, Enagbare exuded confidence when talking about his new room. “I told the guys today we’re only going to be as good as our weakest link, meaning if our weakest link is a bad, bad MF, our group is going to be a bad MF and people’s going to fear that,” Enagbare said.“Iron sharpen iron.
