Kayla Boisvert, Missing Woman Who Vanished From Shambhala Music Festival, Found Safe

Kayla Boisvert, an attendee of this year’s Shambhala Music Festival who had been missing since July 27, has been located safely, her family announced in a statement.Ad 0:00 Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 In an update shared yesterday on @kaylaboisvertismissing, an Instagram account created by Boisvert’s twin sister Dianna that has since been deleted, the family said they believe the situation may stem from a “mental health crisis” and requested privacy as they gather facts.

A GoFundMe campaign had raised more than $20,000 to support search efforts.The most recent post, shared today, announced she’d been safely reunited with her family.

“Kayla has been found,” the statement reads.“Thank you all for your support and donations to get family there to meet her.

She is safe and the family asks for privacy still.As we stated all overflow donations will go to the amazing search and rescue team in Salmo.” Shambhala took place July 24-27 at Salmo River Ranch in British Columbia, Canada.

Boisvert, a 28-year-old paramedic from Trenton, Ontario, was last seen on the festival’s grounds at approximately 2:15am PT on July 27.Shortly before she disappeared, she attempted to call her sister.

“I was sleeping and called her back instantly when I realized that she called,” Dianna told CBC News, adding that the call went straight to voicemail.In the days since her disappearance, friends, festival security, medical staff, local authorities and area hospitals had been unable to locate her as her disappearance spread rapidly on social media.
