The suspect in the Chino Hills murder-kidnapping creepily crawled along a quiet residential street before turning into his victim’s driveway and cutting the power to the residence.Surveillance footage, obtained exclusively by the California Post, shows a silver car with its headlights on around 10:15 p.m.Wednesday rolling through the quiet neighborhood before coming to a stop at the victim’s house.The suspect then cut the power to the residence, according to a law enforcement source, and kidnapped a man, shooting him in the process.
Officials were examining the power box at the residence recently, the source said.The homeowner who provided the footage said he has already handed it over to police.The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office previously said a 911 caller heard “gunshots” and “someone screaming.As officers responded, they encountered the suspect’s vehicle and tried to pull him over.
He led them on a short chase, which ended a short distance away from the victim’s residence.More surveillance footage showed the suspect stop his vehicle in a quiet Chino Hills neighborhood before a passenger got out and walked towards deputies with his hands up.But the driver acted strangely, remaining in his seat before opening and closing his door before letting the vehicle slightly roll forward.He then got out with his hands raised before changing his mind and going back into the car to retrieve something.The driver is then seen going to the trunk and allegedly shooting the victim, according to police.Officers are then seen in the additional footage opening fire on the driver, killing him.The driver and victim were pronounced dead at the scene.
