Rob Bonta is pro-choice as long as the choice is abortion

A man has gone to court to tell California women what to do with their bodies.That man is Rob Bonta, the state’s attorney general.But wait, you say.Aren’t Democrats like Bonta pro-choice?Well, yes — if that choice is abortion.

If the choice is to save the baby, not so much.Bonta said Friday that he expects to prevail in a lawsuit the state brought in 2023 against pro-life groups that offer abortion-pill reversal.The procedure relies on high-dose progesterone to counter the abortion pill in women who have last-minute changes of heart.California can’t have that, Bonta says, because pro-life groups allegedly fail to sufficiently warn women that reversing an abortion might cause severe bleeding.California's top news, sports and entertainment delivered to your inbox every day.
