Hero sheepdog takes charge of SoCal rescue with unexpected move to aid first responders

A little white sheepdog unexpectedly became the hero of the day, stepping in to help first responders land a helicopter during an emergency in Orange County.The Laguna Beach Police Department and the Laguna Beach Fire Department personnel were called out for an emergency on Friday in the foothills, the department said in a post on social media.While units on the ground worked to clear the trail so the helicopter could land, a pup in charge of a herd of goats — who were in the way — sprang into action to aid in rescue efforts.“The sheepdog stepped up and helped guide a group of goats out of the way so the units could work,” the post on social media read.Drone footage captured video of the pup running ahead of the giant pack of goats and directing them out of the way so rescuers could respond.At one point, a close up shot captured the white pooch’s happy expression as he ran to the top of the hill with his tail wagging, bringing along dozens of little goats with him.“That’s a good boy,” the department wrote. Many people on social media saw the video and commented about the pup’s actions.“Hero,” one person wrote.“Nicely done,” another person added.“Good dog,” opined a third commenter.Exactly what the emergency response was for was unclear, as there was no other information provided at the time....
