Ron Duguays daughter gives health update after former Rangers stars scary fall

Ron Duguay, the former Rangers star, is out of the hospital and recovering after collapsing last week, his daughter Shay Thomas shared on social media.Duguay is battling Stage 4 colon cancer, which has spread to his liver.He was taken to the hospital last week after fainting and suffering facial injuries.Thomas said doctors determined he fainted from dehydration after Duguay was feeling sick and having trouble eating.“He still isn’t feeling his best or eating much, but he is taking it day by day, trying to get down some soup and slowly regain his strength,” Thomas wrote.Thomas also shared next steps for Duguay’s treatment.“Our main focus is getting him strong enough to travel back to Orange County and return to City of Hope,” she wrote.

“His next treatment will be Bizengri, also known as zenocutuzumab-zbco, a targeted therapy that works by blocking certain signals that can help cancer cells grow.We are praying this will be the treatment his body responds to.”Thomas added more detail about the injuries her father is dealing with.“Dad lost all of his veneers and two of his natural teeth.

A few more also fell out after he returned home, likely because they were loosened during the accident,” Thomas wrote.“Once he is feeling stronger, he will need to see a dentist to begin repairing the damage.”In the video Thomas posted to social media, Duguay can be seen smiling with a missing tooth.Duguay’s family first announced his cancer diagnosis in February after setting up a GoFundMe page.Duguay, who had two stints with the Rangers in the 1970s and 1980s, was a highly popular player because of his offense and signature hair.His lone All-Star selection came in 1981-82, when he scored 40 goals.He also saw time with the Red Wings, Penguins and Kings....
