Detroit voters call on Democrats to unite around El-Sayed after stunning victory of far-left progressive

DETROIT — Fox News Digital hit the streets of the Motor City on Wednesday to speak with voters after progressive candidate Abdul El-Sayed scored a huge win against the Democratic establishment in the Senate primary race."I'm ecstatic that he won.I'm very happy that he won.

I was rooting for him the entire way," Justice Cook, a downtown Detroit resident, told Fox News Digital after El-Sayed clinched the nomination."When I saw the results, I was watching it all night.I was happy.

I actually went to bed at 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning.I couldn't sleep," Cook added.

"Because the candidate of change that I wanted was finally able to get in, I was excited.Abdul put in the work — the groundwork.

I saw him about four or five months ago, and I was always skeptical that he could pull it off, but when he pulled it off, I was just excited about it all the way around.So, go Abdul!"Abdul El-Sayed beat Rep.
