Sphere CEO Outlines Aggressive Expansion Plans: "As Many as I Can Build, I'm Going to Build"

reported second-quarter revenue of $313.6 million, driven largely by the $226.4 million clip of its flagship Vegas venue, up nearly 30% from the same period last year.The results underscore how quickly the record-breaking $2.3 billion orb has become the company’s primary growth engine, and during its Q2 earnings call, Dolan signaled that Sin City is just the beginning.

Dolan, the firm’s Executive Chairman and CEO, laid out an aggressive vision for scaling the Sphere concept to new cities.“As many as I can build, I’m going to build,” he said on the call, per a transcript published by Investing.com.

“The capital is there.The goal is going to be the goal.

It’s going to be to go fast.” “I really want five, six years from now, have five venues up or more and have another five that are under construction.If we can figure out how to construct them faster, which we are working on all the time, we’d do that, too.” That timeline hinges on solving what Dolan described as the real bottleneck in Sphere’s expansion, which isn’t funding, but design and construction logistics.

Moving from a single Vegas build to multiple simultaneous projects means juggling different contractors, labor markets and supply chains in each location.Dolan said the company has spent the years since Vegas opened refining a repeatable model, including standardizing the underlying technology stack across venues.
