Hilary Duff takes subtle headlining dig at NHL ex Mike Comrie during MSG show

Hilary Duff took the stage at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night in front of thousands of adoring fans.While on stage, she reflected on her prior time spent at The World’s Most Famous for different reasons.“I went to a lot of hockey games here, but now, I’m headlining MSG, baby,” Duff commented to cheers, according to Entertainment Weekly.Duff was seemingly referencing her past marriage to former NHL player Mike Comrie.The two were married from 2010 to 2016, the early years of which Comrie spent playing for the Penguins, who face the Rangers at MSG multiple times per season.Duff and Comrie share a 14-year-old son Luca together.They divorced in 2016, citing irreconcilable differences, after separating in 2014.She is now married to songwriter and producer Matthew Koma, where the two share three children.
Duff went on to thank the MSG crowd for the opportunity to thrive as her career continues.“You guys have all made this entire thing possible for me,” Duff said.“I just want to say, I love you and I can’t tell you how much it means to me that we get to spend this night together.”Comrie also spent time with the Oilers, Flyers, Coyotes, Senators and Islanders during his 10-year career, — and was a fan favorite in Edmonton.Another ex had a much more prominent role in the MSG shows.
Duff brought out Joel and Benji Madden of the band Good Charlotte to perform together.Duff and Joel dated from 2004 to 2006, but have remained close friends.Duff also revealed that she had a chaotic morning before her first MSG show.“We were in the ER this morning getting some stitches for my 5-year-old,” Duff revealed of her daughter Mae.
“It’s all good.But it’s very ‘our family-coded’ that I would be playing my first show at MSG and also be in the emergency room getting my kid stitched up.”Duff gave her four children a shoutout on stage as well.“My kids are here tonight,” she shared.
“I can’t believe I get to show them this.”...
