Joe Scarborough slams Democrats for tolerating unhinged lefties: Too woke to call out the obvious

“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough went on a fiery rant against Democrats, shouting that party leaders were permitting the most controversial voices to gain prominence because they are “too woke to call out the obvious.”The MS Now show ran a clip of Rep.Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) Sunday appearance on ABC’s “This Week” in which she was pressed about her decision not to endorse Francesca Hong, a democratic socialist candidate in the Wisconsin gubernatorial race who once called for abolishing the police, prisons — and even Thanksgiving.Ocasio-Cortez evaded the question, while rambling that Hong had “moved away” from many of those old positions.

She then said a New York City councilman has a great line for it — “Woke 1 was crazy.”Scarborough ripped into the congresswoman’s dismissive response, arguing that there’s “no great conspiracy” behind renewed criticism of the Democratic Socialists of America, citing the success of New York City’s far-left Mayor Zohran Mamdani.The host praised Mamdani as someone who’s “proven to be, I think, extremely pragmatic in many ways,” while also calling out his high approval rating, the lowest murder rate “on record” and a “thriving” economy.“But you also have [DSA] people in New York City that have been saying some whacked-out things,” Scarborough continued.“I think most mainstream voters would say they’re whacked-out things, when they’re talking about going to pro-Hamas rallies the day after Hamas slaughtered more Jews than on any day since the Holocaust.I think 90% of Americans would think that is abhorrent.” he said.“And so, you know, again, they’ll try to blur the lines – ‘Oh, well, they just don’t support healthcare for all’ – no, no, we’re not saying that.
