It was arguably the play of the afternoon for the defense and captured Alexander’s potential, but it also served as a blemish on Dart’s ledger.As the Giants went through a critical situation drill during a team period, simulating a scenario where the offense could win the game with a conversion, Dart scrambled outside and cut toward the sideline.When he opted to slide instead of taking a hit, he drew audible cheers from the Giants — including head coach John Harbaugh.

“It was great,” Harbaugh said of Dart’s decision, with sliding his Achilles heel as a rookie.“We had a great play,” Harbaugh said.“It came open.
