MyPillow founder Mike Lindells political dreams put to bed by Minnesota voters

State House Speaker Lisa Demuth and Sen.Amy Klobuchar emerged victorious Tuesday in their respective Minnesota gubernatorial primaries and will face off in the fall general election to replace outgoing Gov.

Tim Walz.Demuth trounced MyPillow founder Mike Lindell and Army veteran and businessman Kendall Qualls in the crowded GOP primary field, leading by more than 15 percentage points when the race was called.  The first black lawmaker and first Republican woman to serve as speaker of the Minnesota House, Demuth campaigned on a fraud-fighting agenda – pledging to immediately take steps to enact a “Fraud Prevention Plan” if elected. “No longer will our government be fixated on shoveling out taxpayer dollars first and asking questions later,” she vowed.“We will transform Minnesota’s state government into a fiscal and moral steward of our tax dollars.”Lindell, who was endorsed by President Trump in July, appeared on track to finish a disappointing second in the race.“Mike Lindell deserves a BIG WIN IN MINNESOTA today,” Trump wrote on Truth Social hours before polls closed.

“Nobody has worked harder, and given up so much, in fighting for free and fair Elections.”The president, who has never won the state of Minnesota, urged residents to “go out, NOW, and VOTE for Mike Lindell for Governor,” adding: “He will not let you down.” Despite Trump’s endorsement, Lindell did not have the support of the GOP establishment in the North Star State. The Minnesota Republican Party endorsed Qualls over the pillow mogul in May. Lindell, who built MyPillow from the ground up into a multi-million dollar company after recovering from an addiction to crack cocaine and later launched his own television network, announced his candidacy last December at his factory in Shakopee. Ahead of the announcement, Lindell told The Post that he was the most qualified person to “save” Minnesota. “I watched Minnesota go down, down, down, under horrible leade...
