Moore Kismet Takes the Director's Chair for Upcoming Film Premiere

Moore Kismet is adding another title to their résumé: filmmaker.Ad 0:00 Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 The electronic music virtuoso and EDM.com Class of 2021 alum announced this week that a short film made with friends is set for its theatrical premiere as part of the Los Angeles chapter of the 48 Hour Film Project.

Titled The view is great!, the project fell under the festival’s signature format, by which teams are assigned a genre, character, prop and line of dialogue, then given exactly 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a four-to-seven-minute short.The film from Kismet, whose real name is Omar Davis, is set to debut in late-August at Regal Cinemas North Hollywood.

“If you’ve known me for a long time, aspirations of getting into filmmaking and writing screenplays have been a huge part of my life since before I ever touched a DAW,” Davis tells EDM.com.“When life got really hectic with Moore Kismet-related things, it got put on the back burner.

But I’ve always felt an urge to create interesting but meaningful stories in an artistic medium that isn’t music to do the same thing I’ve always wanted to do with my art: to uplift real conversations and deeper emotions about the different things that we experience in our lives.” “When the opportunity came about to participate in the 48 Hour Film Project, I knew I had to find a way to make it work.” Whether The view is great! becomes a recurring pursuit or a one-off experiment, Davis’ fanbase now has a reason to trade their spot on the rail for a theater seat, at least for one night, to see the producer make their big screen debut in North Hollywood.“I’m incredibly grateful to my wickedly talented friends for taking the time out of their weekend to write, shoot, edit and act in this film with me,” Davis continued.
