A pedestrian was killed after being struck on a major Southern California freeway early Wednesday, triggering a massive traffic jam during the morning commute.The deadly crash was reported shortly after 3:30 a.m.on the westbound 210 Freeway near Citrus Avenue in Azusa, according to the California Highway Patrol incident log.A SigAlert was issued minutes later as authorities shut down the westbound lanes, bringing traffic to a crawl.The carpool lane reopened around 4:41 a.m., but the remaining lanes stayed closed as investigators worked the scene.The victim’s identity and what led to the crash were not immediately known.CHP announced shortly after 6:20 a.m.
