Mayor Mamdani said that a miscommunication led his press people to say Rama Duwaji would get a security detail on her trip to Syria and Lebanon (“Won’t fly,” Aug.13).I’m sorry, but I don’t buy that — just a bunch of lies, like always.

I think Mamdani himself wanted the NYPD to go with her, but when he caught a lot of flack about it, he backed down.I’m glad City Hall got a harsh response from the NYPD.This mayor wants to do whatever he pleases, but let’s hope there’s people out there that will stop him.Rob JohannWoodhavenRama Duwaji, the first lady of New York City, decides to travel to countries on the do-not-travel list.
