California theme park shuts down popular dining-pass hack that let guests feast like royalty

Knott’s Berry Farm has pulled the plug on a theme-park dining hack that let savvy locals turn an annual pass into a year-round meal ticket.The 2027 overhaul means guests who want to keep eating at the park all year will now have to fork over $499 for the unlimited dining plan.That is a brutal jump from the $159 all-season dining plan at Knott’s in 2026.The new price represents a 214% increase — for regulars who live or work nearby — the change hits where it hurts.Knott’s is open 364 days a year, meaning some guests could swing by on the way home from work, grab a meal and repeat the routine throughout the year.The old setup made it possible for frugal parkgoers to rack up hundreds of meals and potentially save thousands of dollars on food.Not anymore.

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, Knott’s new parent company, has replaced the old system with three 2027 dining plans.The cheapest, Access, costs $139 at Knott’s for 20 meals over the entire year.Plus costs $179 for 30 meals.But those looking to feast without limits will have to shell out $499 for Unlimited, which works at any Six Flags park.

The cheaper plans are restricted to the guest’s home park.At Knott’s, Unlimited could theoretically cover more than 725 meals a year, since the Buena Park park operates 364 days annually.At seasonal Magic Mountain, customers could rack up 400 to 500 meals.The rules have also been tweaked.

In 2026, guests could get two meals a day with a four-hour gap.In 2027, there’s no daily cap — but diners must wait two hours between meals.And the cheaper plans remain a bargain: less than $7 per meal at Knott’s and under $5 at Magic Mountain.Knott’s accepts the dining plans at 14 restaurants, including Prop Shop Pizzeria, Papas Mexicanas, Fireman’s BBQ and Coasters Diner.Magic Mountain has 20 participating restaurants, including Ace O’ Clubs, Chicken Coupe, Wascal’s and High Octane Wings.The price shock is even worse at Magic Mountain.Its all-season dinin...
