Red Bulls Julian Hall still in between on World Cup call with USMNT, persistent Poland both options
It seems to be just a matter of time before Red Bull New York star Julian Hall earns a senior national team call-up.But whether that will be for the U.S.men’s national team or Poland, which has made an effort to try to recruit the 18-year-old, who is eligible to play for the European nation due to his Polish descent through his mother, remains a question.
And one right now that Hall still doesn’t necessarily have an answer for.“Especially with the World Cup being here, I’ve had time to think about that and I feel like I’m at a point where I’m still in between,” Hall told The Post at the Red Bulls’ training facility in suburban New Jersey.“I’m still respecting both of my nationalities, and I think they’re two amazing opportunities.
I feel like that’s up to the future, and I’m not really right now making a decision.”The Manhattan native’s 2026 breakout season has catapulted him into the soccer spotlight, scoring nine goals in 18 starts for the Red Bulls during the regular season, which included a hat trick in their May 13 win over the Columbus Crew to become the youngest player in league history to accomplish the feat.Hall also became the youngest player in MLS history to score five goals in his first six matches of the season.His scoring has slowed down since the hat trick, having not found the back of the net.“I think obviously scoring goals is my job and I think you know I’ve done a decent job at that,” he said.
“I want to score more, and that’s always the goal every single game I go into.And I think something I could work on, the coaches, we talk about just my physical presence and being stronger on the ball.”Still, the excitement around Hall is palpable.The president of the Polish Football Association, Cezary Kulesza, made a recruiting trip to Hall’s mother in April and Hall’s name was lightly mentioned during the last World Cup cycle before U.S.
