Man Arrested at Bass Canyon Following Suspected Drug Poisoning Death

A 27-year-old man has died following a suspected drug poisoning at Bass Canyon, and his alleged dealer has been arrested after an undercover investigation at the Pacific Northwest festival, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.Ad 0:00 Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 Bass Canyon, one of the West Coast’s largest bass music festivals, returned to the Gorge Amphitheatre August 14-16 for its eighth annual outing.
Zion Randall, an attendee from Olympia, Washington, passed away due to suspected drug poisoning.According to police, the victim had fallen ill after taking controlled substances from another attendee.
Randall, 27, tragically died afterwards at the venue’s medical area.Grant County Sheriff’s Office Kyle Foreman said his death is being labeled as a drug poisoning rather than an overdose.
After investigating the death, Grant County’s Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team had narrowed down the suspect to 28-year-old Quincy R.Travers.
They then conducted an undercover investigation into the man and purchased suspected illegal substances from him.After the purchase, police arrested Travers on suspicion of one count of delivery of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, comprising one count each for cocaine, ketamine and MDMA allegedly found in his possession.
