Diane Keatons lovingly designed Pinterest House in LA sells for a massive discount

The late Diane Keaton’s dream Los Angeles home has sold for $18 million — more than $10 million less than the $28.9 million the actress hoped to fetch for it last March, Realtor.com reports.The identity of the deep-pocketed owner is not yet known.Keaton, who died of pneumonia at age 79 last October, purchased the property in 2011 for $4.7 million — then spent a stunning eight years building the home, using Pinterest for design inspiration.Keaton, real name Diane Hall, was a known property investor who renovated and flipped homes as a side hustle.

But, as she mentioned in her 2017 book “The House that Pinterest Built,” this one stood out as the only house she could see herself living long-term.It’s also the one believed to be the final one she renovated during her lifetime.Indeed, the dwelling stands replete with lovely touches.

Images show rustic-chic details inside the 9,200-square-foot spread, such as beamed ceilings, walls of windows that open to the outdoors and skylights over the country-style kitchen that let light pour in.Still, Keaton ultimately decided to part ways with the residence, listing it in early 2025 for $28.9 million.Just weeks later, the asking price lowered to $27.5 million before Keaton took it off the market in September, weeks before her death.

The five-bedroom spread then returned to market last December asking $26.9 million.Come June of this year, it was discounted further to $22.9 million.The new owner now has a home whose red-brick exterior spills into a whimsical interior.

Among the other highlights: a circular space whose walls are covered with the words of the “Lucky Life” poem by Gerald Stern.Josh Flagg of Compass represented the seller — which appears to be a trust connected to Keaton’s two adopted children.Emil Alexander Schneeman of Berkshire Hathaway repped the buyer....
