3, 2024 — only to receive a harsh reply that apparently came from his wife, Heather Ammel.“Are you having an affair with my husband?” the message read.Sinema, 50 — who has admitted to having sex with Ammel in multiple cities beginning in May 2024 — said that she didn’t respond to the message.Heather Ammel later testified in North Carolina federal court that Sinema “groomed” her husband, who had been struggling with depression — saying she “had her hooks” in him.“I felt completely powerless,” Heather Ammel said of watching her marriage collapse.“It’s me against a United States senator who has power and money,” she said.“And she had her hook in him.”Asked whether she felt Sinema’s behavior amounted to “grooming” her now ex-husband, she said, “Yes.”Heather Ammel sued Sinema last year for “alienation of affection,” taking advantage of her home state’s  “homewrecker law,” which permits women to sue their ex-spouse’s lovers.
