Bonnaroo Organizers Cancel 2027 Festival

The celebratory tone quickly gave way to a more sober explanation: despite millions of dollars spent on infrastructure upgrades ahead of this year’s festival, including improved drainage, 4.5 miles of new roadways and 135 acres of new grass, the property needs a break.“With limited time to recuperate from back to back years of storms, including the heavy rainstorm on Sunday this year, The Farm, particularly the main venue, needs a break to rest and recover,” the statement reads.” So, here’s what we’ve decided: Bonnaroo will be taking a much-needed year off in 2027.” A storm on the final Sunday of this year’s festival forced organizers to close Centeroo, the festival’s main venue, sending thousands of attendees back to their tents and cars for hours.

Sets by several high-profile artists were scrapped and the remaining performances were delayed, marking the second consecutive year that severe weather disrupted the festival following the outright cancellation of its 2025 edition because of flooding.The pattern has become a familiar and painful one for the tight-knit Bonnaroo community.

The festival was also canceled in 2021 because of flooding tied to Hurricane Ida, on top of a pandemic-driven cancellation the year prior.Fans had grown uneasy in recent weeks as the usual early announcement of next year’s dates failed to materialize.
